Vindhya Range
- Part of Central Highlands and runs north of Narmada.
- Source of rivers Chambal, Betwa, Ken and Tamsa.
- Highest Point- Sad-bhawna Shikhar (752m)
- Tropic of Cancer passes through it.
Satpura Range
- Part of Central Highlands and runs south of Narmada.
- Separates Indo-Gangetic Plains and Deccan Plateau.
- Source of two major West flowing rivers- Narmada (Amarkantak) and Tapi (Betul).
- Rich in Eco-tourism with several National Parks and Reserves.
- Structural parts- Rajpipla Hills, Gawilgarh Hills, Khandwa Gap, Mahadeo Hills and Maikala Hills.
Maikala Hills
- Lies on Eastern Satpura Range in Chattisgarh and adjoining Madhya Pradesh.
- Bauxite deposits found here.
- Major tribes inhabited- Baigas and Gonds.
- Kanha National Park and Achanakmar Wildlife Sanctuary are located here.
Ramgarh Hills
- Located near Ambikapur district of Chhattisgarh.
- In the shape of a Hat.
- Jogimara cave was used to tell musical stories (Older than Ajanta Paintings).
Rajmahal Hills
- In Santhal Pargana division of Jharkhand is of Jurassic Era.
- Major tribe- Santhal and Sauria.
Garhjat Hills
- Also knows as Odisha Highlands.
- Bordered by Chotanagpur Plateau to north and Eastern Ghats in the south-west.
- The major tribe found here are Gond.
- Highest Peak- Malaygiri (1,190m)

- Located in northern part of Sahyadris (Western Ghats).

Ajanta Range
- Located between rivers Tapi and Godavari.
- Has Ajanta Caves in Aurangabad District.
- Source of rivers- Penganga, Purna and Shivana.
