1. K2 (Godwin Austin)

* Second highest Peak of World (8611m) after Mount Everest.

* Highest Peak of Ladakh UT, and is located in the Karakoram range.

* Named: K2 by Thomas Montgomerie, Savage Mountain by George Bell and Mountain of Mountains by Reinhold Messner.

2. Saltaro Kangri

* Second highest peak (7,742m) of the Ladakh UT

* Lies in Karakoram range.

* Forms the Actual Ground Position Line (AGPL) between India and Pakistan in Siachen Glacier region.

3. Reo Purgyil

* Highest Peak of Himachal Pradesh (6,816m).

* Located in the Zanskar Range in Kinnaur district.

4. Karoh Peak

* Highest Peak of Haryana (1,500m).

* Lies in the Morni Hills of Sivalik Range, near Panchkula District.

5. Nanda Devi

* Highest Peak of Uttarakhand (7,816m), and Second highest (entirely) in India.

* Located in Garhwal Himalayas near the Chamoli district.

* Nanda Devi National Park is situated around the Peak.

6. Namcha Barwa

* Located in Arunachal Pradesh near Tibet border.

* Easternmost limit of the Himalayas.

* With height of 7756m bends the Brahmaputra river towards India.

7. Kangto

* One of the highest peak of Arunachal Pradesh (7,060m).

* Located in the West Kameng district, near Tibet in the Eastern Himalayas.

8. Saramati

* Highest Peak of Nagaland (3,826m).

* Located in the Naga Hills in Kiphire district.

9. Guru Shikhar

* Highest Peak of Rajasthan (1,772m).

* Located in the Mt. Abu Hills of Aravalli range.

* Named after Guru Dattatreya.

* Located in the Parasnath range.

* Named after 23rd Jain Tirthankara.

* Also known as Phawngpuri.

* The name translates to ‘Elephant Forehead’.
