1. Vikram Sarabhai Space Centre (VSSC)

•  Located in Trivandrum, Kerala.

•  VSSC is responsible for the design and development of launch vehicle.

•  Major programmes at VSSC are PSLV, GSLV, Rohini Sounding Rockets, (GSLV) Mk Ill, Reusable Launch Vehicles etc

 

2. Liquid Propulsion Systems Centre (LPSC)

•  Located in two campuses namely- Valiamala, Thiruvananthapuram and Bengaluru.

•  LPSC is centre for design, development and realisation of liquid propulsion stages for ISRO’s Launch Vehicles.

 

3. Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) SHAR

•  Located in Nellore District of Andhra Pradesh

•  Sriharikota is Spaceport of India, for providing Launch Base Infrastructure.

•  Has separated launch pads for PSLV and GSLV.

4. U R Rao Satellite Centre (URSC)

•  Located in Vimanapura Post, Bengaluru, Karnataka.

•  Developing associated satellite technologies used for providing applications in the area of Communication, Navigation, Meteorology, Remote Sensing, Space Science and interplanetary explorations.

 

5. ISRO Propulsion Complex (IPRC)

•  Located in Mahendragiri Hills, Tirunelveli District,

Tamil Nadu

•  Equipped with the state-of-the-art facilities necessary for realising the cutting-edge propulsion technology.

 

6. Space Applications Centre (SAC)

•  Located in Jodhpur Tekra, Ambawadi Vistar, Ahmedabad Gujrat.

•  Involved in development of spaceborne and airborne instruments/payloads eg. INSAT, GSAT, DTH, VSAT etc for national and social benefits

7. National Remote Sensing Centre (NRSC)

•  Located in Hyderabad,

Andhra Pradesh

•  NRSC is responsible for remote sensing satellite data acquisition and processing, data dissemination, aerial remote sensing and decision support for disaster management.

 

8. ISRO Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC)

•  Located in Peenya Industrial Area, Bengaluru

•  It provides tracking support (Telemetry, Tracking and Command (TTC) for all the satellite and launch vehicle missions of ISRO

 

9. Master Control Facility (MCF)

•  Located in Hassan of Karnataka and Bhopal of Madhya Pradesh

•  MCF controls all the satellites of ISRO, such as INSAT, GSAT, Kalpana and IRNSS etc series of satellites by continuous Tracking, Telemetry & Commanding (TT&C) operations, etc. and special operations. 

10. ISRO Inertial Systems Unit (IISU)

•  Located in Vattiyoorkavu,

Thiruvananthapuram, Kerela

•  IISU is responsible for the design and development of Inertial Systems for Launch Vehicles and Spacecraft programmes of ISRO.

 

11. Laboratory for Electro-Optics Systems (LEOS)

•  Located in Peenya Industrial Estate, Bengaluru

•  LEOS designs develops and produces electro-optic sensors and optics for spacecraft use.

•  Like sun sensors, earth sensors, star sensors, magnetic sensors, temperature sensors etc

 

12. Development and Educational Communication Unit (DECU)

•  Located in Ambawadi Vistar, Jodhpur Tekra, Ahmedabad, Gujrat

•  DECU enable Telemedicine (TM), Tele-Education (TE) etc and and other SATCOM based applications.

13. Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS)

•  Located in Dehra Dun, Uttarakhand

•  Premier institute in the field of space research in India.

 

14. ISRO HQ

•  Located in Antariksh Bhavan, New BEL Road, Bangalore

•  Working for promoting development and application of space science and technology in India.

 

15. New Space India Limited (NSIL)

•  Located in ISRO HQ Campus, New BEL Road, Bengaluru

•  It is the newest centre incorporated on 6 March 2019.

•  Itis a wholly owned Government of India company, under the administrative control of Department of Space (DOS) of Central Government.

•  It is commercial arm of ISRO to enabling Indian industries to take up high technology space activities. 

16. Antrix Corporation Limited (ACL)

•  Located in Antrix Complex, New BEL Road, Bengaluru

•  Wholly owned Government of India Company under the administrative control of the Department of Space (DOS) of Central Government.

•  ACL is commercial and marketing arm of ISRO.

 

Other Astronomy Institute

Aryabhatta Research Institute of Observational Sciences (ARIES)

•  Located in Nainital, Uttarakhand

•  Established on 20 April 1954

•  Specializes in Astronomy, Astrophysics and Atmospheric Sciences

•  Autonomous Institute under the Department of Science and Technology (DST)
